Taking a huge interest in photography from the age of 14, and after studying photography, I discovered as an art lover and frequent visitor to galleries, in my mid 20’ies, the delights of painting – coming out of the darkroom and into the light.
Working with brushes, oil paint and scalpel seemed to suit my soul. I have experimented with many different types of painting surfaces, painting on paper, fiber boards, canvasses and wood. Experimenting with the grounding of each surface to create different effect for different results. I am still trying to master these effects and the use of oil paints in order to still develop my art.
I can only paint from what I have seen, using photos, pencil sketches, paint work sketches and memory to realise my canvases.
I was born and raised in Eastbourne, South England, where I spent my childhood on the downs and by the sea front. Nature is one of my big inspirations as you can see in my paintings.
